Tissot Visodate Heritage Review

For a dress watch that everyone is recommending as the best watch under 500, this is a classic style that has been given a breath of fresh air in its modern touches that give all of the must-have details to a vintage style.  The Tissot Heritage Visodate is a sleek model that was originally released in 2010 but is still popular today due to its status as a timeless and simply dress watch that really does a lot for any style. I recently purchased it off Amazon, and I couldn’t be happier.

The watch that was beginning of this came out in 1953, marking its 100th year anniversary.  This was the first watch release that was automated and had a date window.  One very similar to this was released in 1957 and this model itself is what inspired the Tissot Heritage Visodate that we’re looking at today.  It’s got all of the things that you would look for in a designer watch: a case from sapphire crystal, an exhibition back and a simple and understated deployment clasp.

Case & Dial

You’ll find that this watch is carefully constructed to give you a classy look each time you wear it with a case that is highly polished for a professional look.  Measuring at 40 mm with long lugs and a bezel on the thinner size, you get a very classy and simple watch with a very legible dial that can be seen from any direction of wearer.  With just the smallest of a trapezoid shape, the carefully designed caseback is just slightly larger than the bezel, making it perfect for wearer who wants to dress it up without it being too fancy.

The dial has different angles to appreciate it form.  It seems silver and with a pearl-like finish up close, and from a distance, you’ll see it appears to be more white, blindingly; almost.  The numbers are great for their simplicity and easily legibility.  The date is modern for your needs, and works smoothly.  The crystal is absolutely clear and will keep all things ticking as they should.

The back of the Visodate has an exhibition case where you can see the gold rotor on the ETA 2836-2 movement.  The watch will change the date much faster than similar models.  With over 72 hours or wear, the accuracy is steady at -7 seconds per day.

Style & Comfort

For the fashion-forward wearer, the leather strap is perfectly patterned in the classic alligator look.  The deployment clasp mimics the original one save for the logo, which is on the dial instead of on the clasp itself.

This is recommended with a gray or black suit.  If you want to change things up, you can get the Visodate in many different colour combinations for your satisfaction.  You’ll even find a few variations with roman numerals.  Priced just right, this is an easily accessible reach for anyone who wants to look good in classic style with modern comforts.
